Merit Awards

A good education plays a crucial role in a child’s future. The Merit Awards are given out at the end of every year to encourage our children for academic excellence. Members of the society may submit their children’s academic result slips to be considered for the award.

The Dulcie Wilson Scholarship Fund

In memory of Mrs. Dulcie Wilson, Haemophilia Society of Singapore (HSS) have pledged $20,000 to set up the Dulcie Wilson Scholarship Fund to benefit HSS members in their academic endeavours.

Terms and conditions for applicants:

  1. The scholarship is open to all members of the Haemophilia Society of Singapore (HSS) who suffer from haemophilia
  2. Applicants must be pursuing their studies in a recognised local tertiary institution (polytechnic/university)
  3. Grants up to a maximum of $1,000 per academic year will be granted to a maximum of 3 selected members per year. The scholarship is given out on a yearly basis.
  4. Applicants who are currently receiving or have received any scholarships/bursaries from any other organisation(s) are not eligible to apply
  5. A member must be a paid-up member at the point of application.
  6. Factors taken into consideration during the selection process include academic results, household and per capita income, the length of membership as well as the character of the applicant
  7. Attendance for successful applicants at the award presentation ceremony is compulsory unless there is a valid reason
  8. Applicants will be informed of the success of their application(s) and the confirmed date and details of the award presentation
  9. Successful applicants are required to submit report card/ examination results at least every 6 months
  10. The decision of the committee is final and the committee reserves the right to approve or reject any application
