About us

Our History

Founded in 1985, the Haemophilia Society of Singapore (HSS) is a patient-led organisation dedicated to supporting people with haemophilia and other bleeding disorders, along with their families and caregivers. HSS is a registered charity and an affiliated member of the National Council of Social Services (NCSS), and is part of the global network of the World Federation of Haemophilia (WFH).

Over the years, HSS has grown into a trusted community that connects individuals and families, providing a platform for shared experiences, peer support, and education. Through community engagement, outreach, and partnerships with healthcare professionals, HSS works to strengthen understanding of haemophilia and support individuals across different stages of life.

Today, HSS plays an active role in advocating for a more holistic approach to haemophilia care — one that goes beyond clinical outcomes to reflect the lived experiences of patients and caregivers. By contributing community insights, supporting education, and fostering dialogue across stakeholders, HSS seeks to improve long-term outcomes and enable people with haemophilia to lead active, fulfilling lives and contribute meaningfully to society.

About HSS

Everyday as the world unfolds We can see we are not alone Hand in hand, everyone, we stand Firm with no regrets
Though at times, we say life is unfair At times we just can’t go on Then again, just a few steps away We witness a ray of hope

So be strong, let us carry on To live a life worth living for Traveling on with our hearts as one Never letting go
So at times, we say life is unfair Remember our song, our prayer Let it be our pillar of strength For many more years to come
