Living with Haemophilia in Singapore: Study Launch

On 9 April 2026, the Haemophilia Society of Singapore (HSS) launched its national study, Living with Haemophilia in Singapore: Care, Lived Experiences, and Outcomes at a closed-door session with community members, healthcare professionals, and partners.

The study captures the lived experiences of persons with haemophilia (PwH) and their caregivers, going beyond clinical outcomes, to reflect the lived realities of daily life.

Importantly, it builds on the significant progress in clinical outcomes achieved over the years, and allows us to now ask a different set of questions: to understand not just how people are treated, but how they are actually living.

The Path Forward

The findings identify opportunities to move beyond bleed management, and towards enabling PwH and their families to fully live life. This includes strengthening caregiver support, addressing mental wellbeing, and improving access to coordinated care and resources.

HSS will continue working with partners and the community to translate these insights into meaningful action.
