HSS end of year activities

As part of our renewed focus on reaching out and collaborating with a broader range of stakeholders, HSS attended the Patient Voices Symposium 2024, held on 19 November at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine Headquarters. The event brought together a dynamic community of local and international patient partners, advocates, researchers, clinicians, academics, and healthcare professionals.

HSS was invited to this meaningful gathering that emphasised the critical role of patient and public involvement (PPI) in advancing medical research and education. Through engaging discussions, attendees shared best practices and explored innovative strategies to strengthen PPI, fostering valuable insights and collaborations.

Key highlights included the concept that patients are experienced based experts, Open Voices Library sessions and a moving performance composed by patients, underscoring the transformative impact of patient stories in shaping the future of healthcare.

The following month also saw a productive and positive meeting with representatives from one of the pharmaceutical companies to explore ways to support broadening the range of treatment options for haemophilia patients in Singapore.

As the year draws to a close, HSS wishes to take the opportunity to wish all our members an enjoyable end to 2024 and a happy, healthy start to 2025!
